The singer has been detained for allegedly driving while intoxicated ( DUI).
The California Highway Patrol picked up the Gimme More singer at around 9.30pm on Wednesday ( 04.03.26 ) night and set her up at 3am on Thursday ( 05.03.26 ).
But, Britney’s criminal records from Ventura County Sheriff’s criminal records, which stated her “celebrity” occupation, indicate that she has already been released and that she must show up in court on May 4th, according to The US Sun.
Britney’s imprisonment comes just days after it was revealed that she has been given a permanent restraining order against a person who showed up at her Los Angeles home after making many “disturbing social media posts” about the Harmful obtains.
A 51-year-old Louisiana person named Donald, who had been detained for trespassing on Britney’s house in 2025, was spotted by Britney’s safety guard, who called the sheriff’s office, according to records obtained by TMZ.
The gentleman was discovered shaking and smoking by deputies, who later took him into prison.
The complaint claimed that Donald, who Britney claimed had been harassing her online since 2013 and had “exhibited strange behaviour and made a number of incoherent feedback” while he was being detained.
Britney, 44, claimed she had no idea who the man was and had no relationships with him, and that her team’s claims that several of his posts could be read as threatening to harm the song were “largely nonsensical.”
According to the papers, Donald is alleged to have a “long and concerning legal history,” including felony theft and aggravated assault convictions in 2019. He was even accused of DUI and cybercrimes, and they also claimed he had been charged with burglary and abuse.
The judge mandated that Donald remain 100 miles or less from Britney on all occasions until 2030.
Britney was charged with four misdemeanor counts and facing a possible prison term for an alleged hit-and-run incident involving a placed vehicle in Los Angeles in 2007.
But, after she paid problems to the owner of the vehicle, the charges relating to the incident were eventually dropped, and a jury found her innocent of a last charge of driving without a California registration.
Soon after that event, Britney lost guardianship of her sons, Jayden, then 19, and Preston, both now 20, to their parents Kevin Federline, and was placed under her contentious conservatorship, which ended in November 2021.
