US President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to target Iran’s power plants if talks with Tehran fail.

Trump claimed on Truth Social that the US military “has not even started destroying what is left in Iran“, warning the country’s leadership to conclude the war at the earliest or face consequences.

“Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants! New Regime leadership knows what has to be done, and has to be done, FAST!,” he wrote on the social media platform.

Trump’s warning came hours after airstrikes targeted a major bridge, killing at least two people. According to local news reports, the highway bridge linked Iran’s capital Tehran to the western city of Karaj.

In fact, Trump shared the video which showed the bridge erupting in a burst of fire and thick smoke after the airstrike. Along with the video, he also threatened Iran to “make a deal before it’s too late.”

Neither the US nor Israel has officially claimed responsibility for destroying the bridge so far. However, The Times of Israel reported that the bridge was hit in a US strike.

Responding to the attacks, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that attacks on civilian structures, including unfinished bridges, will not compel Iranians to surrender.
