The Australian women’s team have clinched an ODI series clean sweep against West Indies with a resounding nine-wicket win in Basseterre, St Kitts.

Set a paltry 137 for victory at Warner Park, Australia lost only one wicket in completing its successful run chase inside 20 overs.

An unbeaten 87-run partnership between Phoebe Litchfield (68 not out) and Ellyse Perry (33 not out) guided the tourists home.

Opener Georgia Voll was the only batter dismissed, out for 23.

Earlier, spinner Alana King did the damage with the ball by claiming the figures of 5-19.

King was named player of the match.

West Indies was all out for 136 from 35.4 overs after captain Hayley Matthews won the toss and chose to bat first.

Matthews was one of King’s dismissals, making 34 before she was caught by Voll.

The West Indies skipper and fellow opener Deandra Dottin made a promising start for the hosts, reaching 0-38 in the sixth over.

But Dottin departed for 22, caught Litchfield from the bowling of Lucy Hamilton.

West Indies proceeded to lose its next four wickets with the addition of just 40 runs and failed to recover from the batting collapse.

Aside from King, Ashleigh Gardner was the only other multiple wicket-taker for Australia, returning the figures of 2-29 from 7.4 overs.

Australia won all six white-ball matches in West Indies, having earlier posted a 3-0 result in the T20 series.
