Air India on Wednesday announced full refunds and a one-time rescheduling waiver for military and defence personnel as a mark of support amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

The airline noted that defence personnel holding special fares and booked on Air India and Air India Express flights till 31 May 2025 will be eligible for full refunds in case of cancellations. Additionally, a one-time rescheduling waiver will be available for travel changes made till 30 June 2025.
The airline stated that the move was made as a gesture of support for the “selfless service” and “duty commitments” of the armed forces.
“Air India group is grateful for the selfless service and dedication of our military and defence personnel. In the prevailing situation, for those personnel holding defence fares who are booked on Air India and Air India Express flights till 31 May 2025, we are offering full refunds on cancellation and a one-time waiver on rescheduling flights up to 30 June 2025 to support their duty commitments,” the Indian carrier shared in a post on X.

This announcement also comes following ‘Operation Sindoor,’ in which the Indian armed forces launched missile strikes early Wednesday on terror nine camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The strikes were in response to the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people were killed, including 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.
