PLC Resources, which has a fresh$ 1.8 million war chest, has wasted no time getting the drill bit to work, kicking off its first slow flow cutting system at its Rochefort gold promise in Western Australia’s fervent Murchison area.
The action comes on the same day as the company revealed that it had received firm commitments for the$ 1.8 million placement at$ 0.008 per share, leaving it well-capitalized with about$ 3.3 million in the bank.
The business is now scheduled to drill up to five pits for 1000m at Rochefort, changing its name from Premier1 Lithium to PLC Resources to better represent its hinge to gold and copper. A drill rig’s use of a drill equipment to test the idea, which is unusual in a neighborhood filled with gold like the Murchison, was the first time the program had been conducted.
35 kilometers northeast of Meekatharra, the Rochefort prospect, which is a component of PLC’s Abbotts North project, has been painstakingly transformed into a drill-ready state. It bears every hallmark of a major golden target, according to geology. These include a significant and coherent 400m by 350m gold-in-soil anomaly with peak values of up to 30 parts per billion gold, as well as a subsequent UltraFine soil sampling, which revealed a 42.9 parts per billion ( ppb ) gold.
This first system is a sincere attempt to evaluate what we think might be a significant platinum discovery.

Rock chip sampling from quartz-hematite veins in the north-south has resulted in high-grade results of up to 11.7 grams per tonne ( g/t ) gold, adding fuel to the fire.
This lady program is a true test of what we believe could be a significant metal discovery on PLC’s ground in the Murchison, according to PLC Resources executive director Simon Phillips.” With high-grade rock chips, a clear gold-in-soil anomaly, and a conducive architectural setting all aligned, we believe it could be a valuable discovery of gold on PLC’s ground in the Murchison,” said Phillips.
The fundamental environment seems particularly alluring. New magnetic and gravity studies have established that Rochefort’s mineralization occurs at the intersection of several significant crustal and interpreted contacts. The great plumbing for putting gold is frequently this type of structural complexity.
Importantly, the mineralization is centered on refined and changed quartz dolerites, a rock type that is typical of the hosts of significant Yilgarn gold systems like the infamous Golden Mile in Kalgoorlie.
Rochefort, 20 kilometers northeast of New Murchison Gold’s Crown Prince deposit, has a strong 3.9 g/t gold equivalent of 279, 000 ounces, adding a little bit of nearology to the story.
Additionally, New Murchison lately delivered high-grade metal at its Lydia prospect, which is located just 2 kilometers west of Crown Prince, with intercepts measuring 3 meters and 32.9 grams/t. The powerful architectural and crustal connections between Lydia and its Rochefort specific are important to PLC.
The Abbotts Greenstone Belt itself is no slump, having previously produced about 41, 000 ounces of gold at an extraordinary head level of 31g/t from high-grade glass islands.
PLC’s Yalgoo gold project is moving further west while the chisel rig turns at Rochefort. Current drilling at its Carlisle possibility that revealed high-grade gold that was beyond the current resource, including a 1m slice that rated 5.28g/t gold from simply 44m.
The company believes that Carlisle’s new volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VMS ) corridor may have opened up yet another exploration frontier.
PLC Resources appears to have plenty of newsflow coming in now that its coffers are replenished, a new brand more in line with its strategy, and a chisel setup spinning on a powerful, undrilled target in a tier-one gold district.
The next quarter’s release of Rochefort’s first assay results is anticipated, which could provide some intriguing reading.
