After testing on his injured elbow revealed he wouldn’t be ready in time, Carlos Alcaraz does not protect his French Open title at Roland Garros.
As a result of his efforts to fix the problem, the seven-time grand slam hero revealed he also didn’t defend his Roman Open title in Rome.
After the results of the tests conducted now, Alcaraz said in a speech on Friday that the best way to be careful is to avoid going to Rome and Roland Garros while deciding when to return to the jury.
The 22-year-old, who also holds the US and Australian Open names, said,” This is a challenging period for me, but I am sure we will come out of it stronger.”
The seven-time great slam champion injured himself in the opening round of the Barcelona Open earlier this month before resuming the contest.
Alcaraz has been dominating the people’s game for a while, while Jannik Sinner, his great European rival, just surpassed him to take the Spaniard’s earth No. 1 position.
Alcaraz had been aiming for a third-straight name at Roland Garros after winning in 2024 and defeating Sinner in an amazing, triathlon five-hour, 29-minute final that some considered to be the best tennis match previously played.
