Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has responded to comedian Samay Raina’s remarks in the Still Alive comedy special. The reaction gained attention online, following Samay’s jabs at Ranveer on the India’s Got Latent controversy.
In his special, Samay revealed that Ranveer had asked an inappropriate question eight times during the show, though only one instance was retained in the final cut.

Ranveer’s subtle reply to the jokes
In a recent paparazzi video shared by Shailesh Pandey, Ranveer appeared cheerful while interacting with the media. When asked about Samay Raina, he replied, “Samay kaun Samay? Kya Samay? (Samay? Who Samay? What Samay?) It’s our time, my time is now.”
In another clip, Ranveer seemed to address the jokes directed at him with a light touch. He said, “Tareefein toh sunai de rahi hain tareef hum tak pahunch jati hai. Jitni zyada positivity aap andar rakhoge, utni zyada aap attract karte ho. Main bohot ‘mazaak kiya’ bhi hoon good sense of humour. Smile karte rehna chahiye.”
Translated to: “I can certainly hear the compliments. Praise always finds its way to me. The more positivity you harbour within yourself, the more you attract. I am also quite playful and possess a good sense of humour. One should always keep smiling.”
Samay Raina on India’s Got Latent controversy
Samay explained his editing choices, saying, “Main tumhe maa ki kasam sach batata hoon. Uss episode main Beer Biceps ne voh sawal 8 baar poocha tha. Aur iske alawa bhi kayi ant shant sawaal poochhe the usne. Toh ab jab maine edit dekha na, maine kaha, ‘Yeh toh bohot gandi baatein kari hain isne.’”
Translated to: “I swear on my mother, I’m telling you the truth. In that episode, Beer Biceps asked that specific question eight times. And on top of that, he asked a whole bunch of other bizarre, nonsensical questions as well. So, when I finally watched the edit, I said to myself, ‘He really said some pretty nasty stuff here.’”
He added that he removed 99 per cent of the inappropriate content.
What transpired in the episode and its aftermath
The controversy began in 2025 when Ranveer asked a question on India’s Got Latent that many viewers found offensive. The question was: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”
Though the panel laughed off the question, it sparked widespread backlash. FIRs were filed against Ranveer and the show’s producers, who also received death threats and faced online cancellation. The National Commission for Women intervened, leading Ranveer to submit a written apology. The Supreme Court granted him interim protection but criticised his remarks as “vulgar” and noted his “dirty mind” had brought shame to society.
