Police have arrested 28-year-old Mohammad Munna, a migrant construction worker from Bihar, for the alleged rape of an 11-year-old girl in Bengaluru. The accused gave the girl Rs 150 cash, asking her to stay silent and not narrate the crime to anyone, police said.
The horrific incident unfolded on Wednesday evening when the minor was playing outside her residence.
Munna reportedly lured her to an under-construction building nearby, where he sexually assaulted her.

To silence the child and prevent her from reporting the crime, he handed her Rs 150 before letting her go.
The girl’s parents grew alarmed when she vanished for an extended period.
Upon her return, they noticed the cash in her possession and questioned her.
Traumatised, the child revealed the assault, prompting the family to rush to Jnanabharathi Police Station.
Officers registered an FIR and swiftly apprehended Munna, who had come to Bengaluru for work.
“A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act: rape and atrocities against children under BNS. The accused is currently in custody, and further investigation is underway. The victim is reportedly receiving medical attention and counselling. Police investigation continues,” DCP, South West Bengaluru, said.
The minor is receiving medical care and psychological counselling to cope with the ordeal.
Authorities are probing Munna’s background and any prior offences as the case progresses under stringent child protection laws.
