A dinner plan in an Indian restaurant in Dubai just got a playful twist, as now your bill doesn’t just depend on what you order, but on who you walk in with.
Anna’s by Jimmydixs, located inside the Barcelo Hotel in Al Jadaf, has introduced a weekday promotion where the bill changes based on your company, according to a report by Khaleej Times. Diners visiting with family can avail 50 percent off, while those arriving with their wife receive 55 percent. The discount increases to 60 percent if accompanied by a girlfriend, and rises further to 65 percent for those bringing more than two.

The offer is available from Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 1.30am, and also includes complimentary welcome drinks, light bites, music, and shisha, the report noted.
Speaking about the idea to Khaleej Times, Sucheta Sharma, founder and managing director of Boho Group, which operates the restaurant, said the concept came from observing customer behaviour in the city.
“Let’s be honest, people here juggle work, families and complicated personal lives. With everything being a bit uncertain lately, going out has also become more selective,” she said.
“We thought, why not create something that makes it easier to step out and enjoy an evening, whether that’s with family or… other company. At the end of the day, it’s like taking your wife out for dinner and your dinner with your girlfriend is on us.”
As emphasised in the Khaleej Times report, the promotion has been circulated online, receiving attention for its unusual premise as much as for the scale of the discounts on offer.
Whether people show up for the discount, the curiosity, or just to test the limits of the offer, one thing is certain: this is one table where who you bring might just matter more than what you order.
