The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of ongoing road maintenance work on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NEP-03). Commuters travelling towards Ghaziabad and Meerut are likely to face disruptions, especially during peak evening hours.

According to the advisory, traffic movement on the expressway may remain affected between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, when vehicular load is at its highest. Authorities have warned of slower traffic and congestion due to lane restrictions on the affected stretch.

MAINTENANCE WORK TO CONTINUE TILL JUNE

The roadwork, being carried out by National Highways Authority of India, is currently underway on one carriageway. However, work is scheduled on both sides and is expected to continue till June 30, 2026. This may further impact smooth traffic flow in the coming months.

Traffic will remain affected on the Delhi–Meerut Expressway (NEP-03), particularly on routes heading towards Ghaziabad and Meerut, which are key commuter corridors for daily travellers.

ALTERNATE ROUTES SUGGESTED

To ease congestion, commuters are advised to use NH-09 (earlier NH-24) as an alternative route. This diversion is expected to offer comparatively smoother traffic movement during peak hours.

TRAFFIC REGULATIONS IN PLACE

Authorities have indicated that

  • Traffic may slow down due to lane restrictions

  • Congestion is likely during evening peak hours

  • Vehicular movement may be regulated as per real-time requirements

ADVISORY FOR COMMUTERS

The Delhi Traffic Police has urged commuters to

  • Plan journeys in advance

  • Avoid the main carriageway of NEP-03 during peak hours

  • Keep extra travel time in hand

  • Follow instructions from traffic personnel and road signage

Officials have appealed to the public to remain patient and cooperative during this period. Commuters are encouraged to anticipate delays and follow updates shared by the Delhi Traffic Police through official channels, including their website, social media platforms, WhatsApp service, and helpline numbers.

STAY UPDATED WITH REAL-TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION

For real-time updates, commuters can stay connected with the Delhi Traffic Police via their official website, social media handles, or helpline numbers (1095 / 011-25844444).
