A gruesome murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh has triggered panic after the body of a former village Pradhan, who had 18 children, was recovered from a canal, stuffed inside a sack. The deceased, identified as Mustaq Gulshan alias Munna, had been missing since March 18.
Police said the killing was allegedly carried out by the victim’s lover, Suman, along with her associates. According to investigators, Gulshan was attacked on the head with a rod, leading to his death.

The accused then allegedly packed the body in a sack and dumped it in the canal in an attempt to conceal the crime. Acting on information, police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Suman has since been arrested, and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other accused involved in the crime.
MISSING CASE TURNED MURDER PROBE
Officials said a missing person complaint had already been registered at Mandhata police station after Gulshan went missing on March 18. The recovery of the body has now turned the case into a murder investigation.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Lal said police teams are probing the sequence of events and the motive behind the killing.
HAD 2 WIVES, 18 CHILDREN; FAMILY IN SHOCK
The murder left the victim’s family devastated. Gulshan, a former pradhan of Mishrpur Mustaq village, is survived by two wives and 18 children.
Police said he had married twice – his first wife, Kismatul Nisha, has nine children, while his second wife, Ambiya Bano, also has nine children. Both families lived together.
Scenes of grief were visible as family members gathered at the site, while police continued their investigation into the murder.
