Instead of fretting about a halt in his team’s speed, Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell is looking forward to an expanded first-season crack as a chance to increase.
The Hawks ‘ season-opening victory over Essendon and a close-fought 14.15 (99 ) to 13.4 ( 82 ) victory over Sydney on Thursday night, which the Hawks had defeated by GWS, put their campaign back on track.
They are currently on an 18-day layoff, followed by the conventional Easter Monday hit against Geelong.
After the Hawks ‘ most recent victory, Mitchell predicted that “if we can maintain the force and power that we got now, we’ll get a really hard part to beat.”
However, if we leave, we don’t have to look too far in the rearview mirror to realize how vulnerable we can get.
Nothing is more crystal-clear to the people than that particular issue.
” We’re taking a little of a break right now, at 2-1, so we can review and make some adjustments to our sport.”
Mitchell insists that his team enjoys the obligation of playing Thursday evening activities and the stand-alone Easter Monday clash, not that Mitchell is particularly worried about the unexpected layoff.
He said,” We love both of those fixtures.”
” We get a little bit of a chance to reevaluate going into a couple of days off for our people,” said the team.
We’ll work on improving a few things until we’re set for Easter Monday.
When Mitchell used the top third of Hawthorn as a key area to work on, Mitchell highlighted the importance of scoring.
Jack Gunston, who added another four aims to his total against Sydney, is one person who isn’t having little trouble rating.
Gunston’s breakout start-to-finish performance led to Garry Lyon, a former Melbourne wonderful, and then a media commentator, suggesting the 34-year-old could score 100 goals this season.
