Katrina Gorry stands high despite being battered, Sam Kerr gets her sides straight, and Kaitlyn Torpey has a memorable day.

Here are the quick hits from the Matildas ‘ 2-1 win over China in the semifinals.

Mackenzie Arnold has generally been trusted since joining the team after missing the tournament’s opening due to injury.

She made 11 saves and controlled her box with authority in the Matildas ‘ touch-and-go quarterfinal victory over North Korea.

And the Australian defense minister made a number of very remarkable stops, including a reduced dive to her remaining to thwart previous Central Coast Mariner Wurigumula, to a high standard.

When Clare Hunt accidentally played in Zhang Linyan outside of the penalty area, American souls were in American mouths.

Arnold rushed up, went to the ground, and clipped the Taiwanese attacker with just herself in front of Zhang.

What are the similarities between Sam Kerr and Pythagoras?

They both understand their viewpoints.

The Matildas commander had been a secondary figure in the first hour of sport and had been silent at Perth Stadium.

However, the town hero came out of the shadows with a strong desire to retake the Matildas.

She played the game out broad and hurried towards the sentence area after using her body to beautifully protect the ball from a Taiwanese challenge on way.

Foord nudged through a completely adjusted through ball before Kerr rolled it over the line from the most serious of angles, avoiding Foreign goalkeeper Peng Shimeng.

The Matildas took the lead up, and Perth Stadium was in ecstasies.

4. Gorry stands high, beaten, and in pain.

All of the American players had a rough and tumble night, but it appeared Katrina Gorry was the one to take on the most difficult of the challenges.

” Mini” was at the center of everything in the garden, and her heartfelt performance was a major contributor to Australia’s advancement.

She may have some wounds from her final performances, though.

The West Ham United winger was repeatedly forced to the ground throughout the night, including after Wang Aifang’s first-half tap was one of the worst.

Gorry was fortunate to escape the incident unharmed, whereas Wang managed to escape with a more orange yellow card.

Australia’s center general was constantly faced with challenges, but she was encouraging all the way to her substitute full into second-half delay day, winning numerous fights and running both with and without the ball.

Gorry stood out in Perth despite being one of the closest players on the field.

5. Torpey is fantastic on her day as Queen causes history.

Kaitlyn Torpey turned 26 years old.

Steph Catley suffered a trauma in the last team game against South Korea, but the left back has been incredible ever since.

Torpey was forced to start in Catley’s absence, even with the former slotting back into the group at center again against China.

And Torpey successfully and really repaid Joe Montemurro’s belief on her unique day, keeping a difficult wing Zhang silent while initiating a number of questioning problems down the left.

You’d think the Newcastle United participant wouldn’t have had a lot of wonderful birthdays.

And Perth Stadium had the opportunity to honor a player who had never given a rousing worldwide performance of her own well before stoppage time.

Veteran playmaker Emily van Egmond entered the field for the last times of play to enjoy a record-breaking appearance as well as extend the Matildas ‘ quarterfinal victory.

In her 170th foreign appearance, she became the most reduced Matilda of all time.
