After a panel of experts approved the$ 30 million proposal, a lifestyle village and short-stay accommodation project in the South West is closer to being realized.
The Regional Development Assessment Panel overwhelmingly approved Ocean Gardens Pty Ltd’s strategy to construct a mixed-use tower, an through 55s village, and short-stay accommodations on three tons in Capel.
Ocean Gardens Pty Ltd is no associated with the same-name pension community operator despite the name.
Julie Wyatt, who is apparently one of the directors of Capel Tavern, owns Ocean Gardens Pty Ltd.
The 3.35-hectare job site, which is bordered by Forrest and Roe highways and Capel Drive, is generally undeveloped but contains a tavern and 19th-century mail stables.
In accordance with the plan, two and three-storey stacked components will be added to the existing bar for the proposed short-stay hospitality of 36 serviced rentals.
According to the application, the stables may be converted into short-stay enjoyment and a gallery.
