Love, star power and security concerns have come together for Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, who have confirmed that their wedding reception in Hyderabad on March 4 will be a strictly invitation-only affair.
In an official statement, the newlyweds announced that the decision was taken following consultations with local police authorities, who advised tighter safety and crowd-control measures in view of the overwhelming public attention surrounding the celebrations. “Virosh wedding reception to remain a strictly invitation-only event. Fans and guests are requested to support safety measures (sic),” the note read.

According to the statement, the wedding has drawn immense love and curiosity from across the country, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity events in recent times. The reception was originally planned as a select gathering of film personalities from the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada industries, along with a few political and administrative dignitaries.
However, authorities later recommended further curtailing the guest list to avoid overcrowding, traffic disruption and potential safety concerns that often accompany high-profile events. The decision, the couple clarified, was taken jointly by the police, event organisers and the families involved.
Expressing gratitude for the support they have received, Vijay and Rashmika said, “Your safety and happiness mean everything to us. We are deeply thankful for your love and blessings, and we request your cooperation in helping us keep this celebration safe and joyful for everyone (sic).”

The wedding itself was held earlier this week in Udaipur in an intimate ceremony attended only by close family members and a handful of friends from the film industry. Despite the scale of their stardom, the couple chose to keep the nuptials private and personal.
The celebrations unfolded over several days and featured two distinct ceremonies — one rooted in Telugu traditions to honour Vijay’s family, and another following Kodava customs, reflecting Rashmika’s Coorg heritage.
After returning to Hyderabad, the couple briefly greeted the paparazzi outside their residence and distributed sweets. They also visited the Tirumala Tirupati Temple in the city to seek blessings, with visuals from the visit widely circulated online.
