Before Friday’s next ODI match between the two teams in Hobart, Ash Gardner referred to Australia’s series-opening victory against India as the “perfect functionality.”
After India defeated its visitors 2-1 in the T20 set, Australia responded with a strong six-wicket victory in the opening 50-game contest on Tuesday in Brisbane.
India’s batsmen from Australia were only allowed to score 4-217 and Gardner only managed 3-333.
With 84 balls left, the home side made light of the run chase, with Beth Mooney ( 76 ), Alyssa Healy ( 50 ), and Annabel Sutherland ( 48 not out ) dominating.
Gardner claimed that Australia combined the best components of its match in Brisbane.
” We’ve played some great bowling along the way and some bad baseball in some areas as well,” Gardner told writers in Hobart.
” I felt like that next game was kind of a great achievement because we were able to wire that up.”
I believed the batsmen definitely set the tone, and we eventually succeeded in chasing down that total.
Gardner claimed that Australia was compensated for ignoring India’s abilities.
She said,” What we did actually well was really focus on ourselves and create sure]we kept] our game strategy really easy.
That’s clearly what we’ll need to do tomorrow, so make sure we adapt to what is presented.
” The other day, bowling second was probably what we wanted to accomplish, and the early bat was very difficult.
In both pitches, those initial 10 innings were going to be the most difficult.
” We know they ( India ) want to take the game on,” the statement reads.” Our mode going forward is just being able to adapt, full stop.”
Australia and India will pack up the line with the second ODI, which will also be played at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval following Friday’s fit.
