At just 22-years-old — an age when most are navigating share houses and rental inspections — Perth Scorchers young gun Cooper Connolly has secured a slice of Perth’s coastline.
Cashing in on his lucrative cricket deals, the rising star recently purchased a nearly $2 million beachside home in one of the city’s most prestigious postcodes.
The beloved all-rounder snapped up a $1.625 million home in the tightly held western suburb of North Beach, placing him among a growing list of elite athletes who reside in the area.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property sits just a kilometre from the shoreline.
North Beach, long regarded as one of Perth’s most desirable coastal pockets, rarely sees homes change hands.
Tucked between Watermans Bay and Trigg, the suburb is prized for its elevated ocean views, quiet streets and proximity to Scarborough — where Connolly grew up — and the CBD.
It’s a significant purchase for a player still in the infancy of what many believe will be a long and decorated career.
Super Cooper became a household name after famously leading the Scorchers to their 2022/23 title win and is fresh off his second Big Bash championship last month, also being named player of the tournament.
His long list of highlights also includes making his Test debut in Sri Lanka last year and captaining Australia at the under-19s World Cup.
He cemented his status as one of Australian cricket’s rising stars in January, winning the WA allrounder snaring the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year prize.
Connolly is the fourth West Aussie in the past decade to receive the Young Cricketer Prize, alongside Hilton Cartwright (2017), Richardson (2018) and Lance Morris (2023).
His net worth is also set to be boosted after being picked up in the Indian Premier League draft in December for close to half a million dollars. The Perth boy also starred in America’s Major League Cricket last year.
If his cricket trajectory continues on its current path, his new North Beach address may simply be the first chapter in a much larger success story.
