Vonn posted a detailed update on her condition on social media on Monday ( local time ), detailing the full extent of her injuries, including a broken leg and a shattered femur that caused area symptoms in the foot.
Compartment disorder is a risky condition brought on by severe pain, such as broken bones or crushing wounds. It blocks blood flow and may harm muscles and nerves.
” Everything was in parts, and the purpose it was so complicated was because I had room syndrome,” Vonn said.
” Compartment syndrome occurs when you have too much stress to one area of your body and it gets stuck, basically crushing everything in the room, causing all the muscle, nerves, and tendons to pass out.
Dr. Tom Hackett saved my knee, too. He saved themputation of my knee.
Vonn had a fasciotomy, an emergency procedure that cuts through the leg tissue to ease the body compartment’s high pressure.
The 41-year-old past Olympic champion has been receiving medical attention for about two months in various hospitals in Italy and the United States while recovering from surgery.
Her most recent surgeries, out of many, lasted six days.
I was in the medical a much longer than I had hoped because I had a really low blood from all the clinics, Vann said.
I was actually having trouble. I had to have a plasma transfusion because the pain was a little out of control, which helped a bit. I turned the corner and am now leaving.
After breaking her right ankle, Vonn may spend the next few days in a chair. She did say she was cheerful of getting on crutches as soon as possible, though she might only use them for a few months.
Vonn said,” I’m going to get it right, work on therapy, observe what I can do, and take it one step at a time, like I usually do,”
” But, I can’t tell you how agonizing it has been. It’s been a lot of work, and I certainly didn’t want to end my Olympics… I wish it had ended in a different way, but I’d rather get lower than consider it all.

Vonn claimed that despite everything, she was able to achieve more than anyone had anticipated.
This year was extraordinary and well worth it. I put a lot of effort into getting again, and it paid off. Only one footnote on the sensor, really. It was the one point I wished hadn’t occurred, she said.
” But life is life, and we must accept the consequences,” so I’ll try my best to handle this situation. Although it really knocked me down, I’m like Rocky; I’ll simply stay climbing.
