Chloe Lincoln, a sun Matildas steward, says she is devastated for Teagan Micah after the star player was ruled out of the Women’s Asian Cup due to a trauma.
Mikeh was chosen for Australia’s 26-player club last week along with other goalkeepers Mackenzie Arnold and Jada Whyman, who are both unlimited.
However, the 28-year-old had to leave just days after because of the persistent effects she was also experiencing from a brain injury she suffered at training more than a fortnight ago at club side Lyon.
On Saturday, Lincoln was chosen as Micah’s successor, and the outcome was bitter-sweet for the 21-year-old.
” I know this game would have meant a lot to Teags, so I knew right away that I would have devastated her,” Lincoln said.
” I send her all the best intentions in the world, and I sincerely hope she recovers quickly and is recovering.”
