A young motorcyclist was seriously injured after a speeding dumper truck rammed into his bike in Maharashtra’s Kalyan East, throwing him into a deep roadside pit in a terrifying accident captured on CCTV.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when the dumper, travelling from Shriram Chowk towards neighbouring Ulhasnagar, hit the biker. The impact caused the rider to lose balance and fall, along with his motorcycle, into a deep excavation pit dug along the roadside for pipeline work.

Eyewitnesses said the dumper was moving at high speed when it suddenly collided with the bike. Following the crash, the rider plunged into the uncovered pit, sustaining serious injuries.
Locals rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and pulled the injured man out before shifting him to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The motorcycle was badly damaged and later retrieved from the pit using a crane.
Residents alleged negligence at the excavation site, claiming there were no warning signboards, barricades, or safety arrangements despite ongoing digging work. The CCTV footage of the incident has since surfaced, raising questions over civic safety measures and site supervision.
Citizens have demanded immediate action from the civic authorities and stricter enforcement of safety norms at construction and excavation zones to prevent similar accidents.
