Past AFL player and sports broadcaster Warren Tredrea has confirmed that Channel Nine has paid its legal fees.
Tredrea received a deadline of one month from the Federal Court in September to give his ex-partner$ 149,000 for a long-running lawful dispute.
The original Port Adelaide player and 2004 AFL league commander lost an unfair dismissal case against Nine in 2024 after working as a activities presenter there.
Tredrea claimed his contract was terminated because he had never been tested against COVID-19, but the Federal Court accepted Nine’s counterargument that his place would not be renewed as a result of his work performance.
He was afterwards ordered to pay Nine’s legal costs for the elegance and eventually lost an appeal against the judge’s decision.
Tredrea had asked him to “fully discharge his duty” in exchange for a “promissory observe” in exchange for the costs, but it was rejected.
Nine emailed Tredrea a liquidation see in December asking for money to cover the costs of the appeal’s legal costs.
Tredrea lost a bid to contest the recognize in court on Tuesday, and she was given a timeframe of 4pm to make the repayment.
The community immediately confirmed to ABC that it had received payment.
