After breaking his neck in two places during a training program at the 2026 Olympics, American snowboarder Cam Bolton has been flown to a doctor in Milan.

The snowboard cross swimmer was hurt during a collapse in training on Monday, but he was not taken into the hospital at the time.

Bolton, however, reported getting worse chest discomfort on Tuesday and was sent for a CT scan that revealed two” firm neck bones.”

Bolton will go through additional testing and imaging, and the Australian Olympic Committee is working with local physicians to help him with his care.

James Johnstone may join the team along with Adam Lambert and Jarryd Hughes for qualifying on Thursday, and the late performer alternative solution has been implemented.

Misaki Vaughan, a halfpipe snowboarder, also lost out on the Olympic games after she failed a head injury assessment ( HIA ) on Tuesday, which dealt her a double blow.

Vaughan suffered a brain injury after striking her during coaching on Monday. She was kicked out of the Olympics competition after failing a subsequent Project on Tuesday and being removed from coaching. According to brain injury guidelines, an athlete must not compete for a minimum of seven times, which means she will lose Wednesday’s women’s halfpipe qualification.
