Star cricketer Rinku Singh got engaged to Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh’s Machhlishahr, Priya Saroj in a private ceremony in at a five-star hotel in Lucknow on Saturday.
Several celebrities and politicians were present at the event, including SP National President Akhilesh Yadav, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla, actress and politician Jaya Bachchan, among others.

The wedding is scheduled for 18 November at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi.
Who Is Priya Saroj?
Saroj is a 26-year-old politician and lawyer, and is currently serving as a Member of Parliament from the Machhlishahr constituency. Daughter of three-time MP and current MLA from Kerakat, Tufani Saroj, Priya was elected for the first time in the 2024 general elections representing the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party.
Born on November 23, 1998, in Varanasi, Priya completed her schooling at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Delhi University and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Amity University, Noida. Following her graduation, she practiced law in the Supreme Court of India .
As per the media reports, Priya entered politics despite her initial aspiration to become a judge. In the 2024 elections, she contested from Machhlishahr, a seat previously held by her father, and won with a margin of 35,850 votes over BJP’s BP Saroj. During her campaign, she focused on issues such as youth employment and women’s empowerment
