After coming up from a cast down to defeat top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in Paris, Coco Gauff won her first French Open women’s singles subject.
Next plant Gauff responded with an instant break and won the second collection 6-2 after a topsy-turvy starting set that Belarusian Sabalenka edged after a tiebreak.
The American, age 21, maintained her momentum to win the deciding set 6-7 (7-5 ), 6-2, 6-4 for her second Grand Slam title and her first on clay. She lost the 2022 French Open final as an 18-year-old.
