Sensex Today: Indian benchmark indices began Monday’s session on a positive note, buoyed by mixed global cues.
At the opening bell, the BSE Sensex rose 320.12 points, or 0.40%, to 80,822.11, while the Nifty50 advanced 90.50 points, or 0.37%, to trade at 24,437.20.

Investors will also closely track corporate earnings, with major companies like Mahindra & Mahindra and Indian Hotels Company set to announce their Q4 results, which may influence market sentiment.
Global Cues
In the previous session on Friday, US markets ended on a strong note. The S&P 500 rose 1.47% to close at 5,686.67, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.39% to finish at 41,317.43, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.51% to settle at 17,977.73.
However, US stock futures slipped on Sunday night, indicating some caution among investors. S&P 500 futures dropped around 0.50%, while Dow Jones and Nasdaq-100 futures were also down by 0.50% each.
In the Asia-Pacific region, markets in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and China were closed due to public holidays. Meanwhile, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.18% after incumbent Prime Minister Anthony Albanese secured a rare second term—Australia’s first re-election of a government in 21 years.
