Pahalgam Terror Attack Live Updates: Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated further on Saturday after New Delhi ramped up its response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, with a ban on imports, incoming mail and parcels from Pakistan and restricting the docking of ships from the country at all Indian ports.

Meanwhile, Pakistan on Saturday tested a ballistic missile with a range of 450 km, a move that sources say India views as a serious provocation. Earlier, Islamabad violated the ceasefire multiple times by firing on Indian posts along the Line of Control.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. The meeting, the first after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, was organised at the Prime Minister’s official residence in New Delhi. It lasted around 30 minutes.

In one of the biggest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday, April 22, killing at least 26 people, including foreign tourists, and injuring many others. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack.

After the attack, the diplomatic ties between India and Pakistan were downgraded with New Delhi announcing several punitive measures, including suspension of Indus Water Treaty, cutting Islamabad Mission strength, closing its airspace for Pakistani airlines and expulsion of its military attaches. In response, Pakistan undertook tit-for-tat measures and suspended the Shimla Agreement.
