There are rumours a TikTokker turned pop star will make an appearance on the line-up of an Australian music festival yet to be announced.

Spilt Milk festival is set for a comeback sometime soon after it was cancelled last year and has been teasing music lovers with line-up hints.

On Wednesday, the event’s social media team posted a video clip to an Instagram message channel where fans can be the first to know exclusive updates.

The video featured clips of people dancing and other highlights from past years, accompanied by a song by American singer Nessa Barrett.

Along with the video, a headphones and a “sound on” emoji were posted in the chat with some people thinking it meant US pop star Addison Rae would feature in the artist line-up.

Rae just released her new single called Headphones On as she gears up to put out a debut album.

People soon flooded the video with comments speculating on the 24-year-old’s appearance Down Under.

“WAIT THEY SAID 🎧🔛 DOES THIS MEAN ANOTHER TIKTOKER? 👀,” one Instagram user said.

Another said: “Yes! I knew Addison would be on the line-up 🙌🏻.”

“It’s Addison, they just commented on the channel🎧🔛,” a third added.

However, the Spilt Milk team seemingly shut down fans’ hype.

“I literally just meant sound on pls no 😭,” the team replied to a fan.

“I just meant sound on I swear 😭,” they continued to emphasise.

Another fan said: “Nah because you made me think Addison was coming.”

Meanwhile, other fans discussed the possibility of Barrett being on the line-up list.

“WAIT NESSA AT SPILT MILK????????,” one fan said.

Another said: “If spilt milk doesn’t have nessa in the line up I’m actually gon cry.”

“IM HYPERVENTILATING YALL,” a third added.

No reason was given for the decision of the 2024 cancellation but the news was a big blow for live music fans following 2023’s strong attendance and an impressive lineup that featured Post Malone and Dom Dolla.
